Hallo zusammen,
hier zeige ich euch meinen neuen karierten Faltenrock. Er sieht ein bisschen aus wie ein schottischer Kilt 😅, aber ich denke, dass er kombiniert mit einem schlichten Oberteil auch im Office tagbar ist - zumindest am casual-Friday.
Schon lange wollte ich einen Faltenrock, welcher ein breites Taillen-/Hüftband hat, weil man solche Röcke so gut mit Blazern kombinieren kann, im Gegensatz zu Tellerröcken.

Zumindest kann man mit beiden gut Fahrrad fahren😉.
Der Stoff eignet sich wirklich gut für dieses Schnittmuster, da er schön fließend fällt und nicht knittert.
Eigentlich hatte ich bei diesem Rock nur ein neues Schnittmuster (Fashion Style 11/2018) mit einem alten Stoff testen wollen, aber das Ergebnis ist es auf jeden Fall wert getragen zu werden.
Wenn ich einen einfarbigen Stoff verwendet hätte, würde er vielleicht ein bisschen eleganter aussehen.
Die einzige Sache die ich am Schnittmuster ändern musste war, dass ich die Taillenweite um insgesamt 4 cm reduzieren musste.

Es ist für mich das erste Mal, dass ich mit Karo-Stoff gearbeitet habe. Man braucht eine Menge Zeit, bis alle Schnittteile so gelegt sind, dass der Musterrapport eingehalten wird. Aber ich habe es geschafft. 💪😊
An der Vorderseite kann man den Musterrapport gut sehen, ich bin stolz auf mich.
🤔 IST ES DIR WICHTIG, DASS SICH MUSTER EXAKT WIEDERHOLEN, SELBST WENN PRODUZENTEN VON GEKAUFTEN KLEIDUNGSSTÜCKEN NICHT IMMER WERT DARAUF LEGEN? 🤔
🤔 ARBEITET IHR LIEBER MIT EINFARBIGEN STOFFE, UM DAS MUSTERRAPPORT PROBLEM ZU UMGEHEN?🤔
An der Rückseite sieht man Handstiche, mit welchen ich den unsichtbaren Reißverschluss besser verstecken wollte, weil es mir nicht gelingen wollte, ihn verdeckt einzunähen. Nun weiß ich, dass es daran lag, dass ich zwar einen Reißverschluss-Nähfuß aber keinen für nahtverdeckte Reißverschlüsse verwendet hatte. Seit heute besitze ich einen und freue mich schon darauf, nun auch endlich nahtverdeckte Reißverschlüsse professionell einarbeiten zu können.
Lasst uns schauen, was unter dem Rock ist: Normalerweise nähe ich in Winterröcke immer Futter ein, erst recht, wenn es ein ausgestellter Rock ist.
Im Sommer trage ich lieber Unterkleider und spare mir die Arbeit des Unterfütterns.

this is it - my new checked pleated skirt. It looks a little bit like a kilt 😅 but in combination with plain elegant tops it seems to be a wearable outfit in the office as well, at least on casual fridays 😊.
I always wanted a pleated skirt with a big waistband and I think this pattern is great for it, because you can wear it with a blazer - in opposite to a circle skirt.
🤔 DO YOU LIKE PLEATED SKIRTS OR CIRCLE SKIRTS BETTER? 🤔
At least you can cycle with both skirts 😉

The fabric is worderful for this pattern, because it is a flowing material which doesn't crease.
If I would use plain fabric the skirt maybe looks more business-like in combination with a blazer.
I just tested the pattern (Fashion Style 11/2018) by using an old fabric and the outcome is really worth wearing, so I'm happy with it. The only thing I had to alter was reducing the waist by 4 cm in total.

It is the first time I worked with checks. It needed a lot of time to find the right position for the cutting pattern pieces on the fabric, but I made it! 💪😊
On the front side of my memade skirt you can see the pattern repeat 😏 - I'm very proud of myself 😌.

At the back of my skirt I handstitched the zipper after I sewed it with the mashine. Now I know the reason, why the invisible zipper wasn't invisible: I didn't use an invisible zipper foot. No I bought one and I'm looking forward sewing in invisible zippers.
Let's have a look what's under my skirt 🙊🙈🙉: I usually sew in lining in my winter skirts, especially if it is a a-line skirt. This time I used a very cheap lining fabric, which does this job quite good, after washed with softener.
